Chad's Bio.

"Clouds are always dark on my horizon. The breast of the open plain calls me in slumber and in wake. My mind powerful, my fist trembling.... I wait." -Chad Hammel, 1963 - ????

In the year 1963, Chad Hammel (son of Chief Strongbow Bearwill, grandson of The great orator Lone Rotting dog.) was born in a teepee on a Makah reservation near the Dalles, Oregon. Chad, or "Brown Lightning" as was his sacred Makah name, quickly began studying the oral tradition of his people. His elders were amazed at the progress of their prodigious young tribesman.

In fact by the age of 7, he was able too communicate with the most spiritual of tribe leaders, thus becoming the clan's brightest new asset in cultural preservation and tribal enrichment. At the age of 9, young Brown Lightning had his first contact with the white man as he befriended 11-year-old John Davis, son of a wealthy businessman, who owned nearly every piece of property around his tribe's reservation.

As the two grew older they became inseparable and eventually begun distilling their own brand of Whiskey. Over the course of time, they got the entire Makah tribe hooked on this new "fire water". Then, in one of the most lopsided land deals of all time, The tribe traded al 5000 acres of their land for a mere 8 barrels of whiskey. Lightning made a small fortune in this deal, and soon took the western name of Chad.

He walked away from the Dalles with over 7.5 million dollars in his pocket. Within two weeks, he had lost every cent he had too arrival tribe's casino. As he walked toward the door a broken man,he turned to the players on the casino floor and said...

"Clouds are always dark on my horizon. The breast of the open plain calls me in slumber and in wake. My mind powerful, my fist trembling.... I wait." He was never seen again.
